Role at GM English Hub:
My work in education began in high school when I enrolled in the Teacher's Academy, a career pathway program that prepared young student to enter into the education profession. During my undergraduate years, I served as a Youth Outreach Coordinator working with local middle schools and high schools to increase enrollment of diverse and underrepresented students into higher education. After completing my Bachelor degree, I taught middle school in Hawaii and California. Simultaneously, I completed a Master of Arts degree in Education in Curriculum and Instruction. A few years later, I transitioned into counseling. My most recent education and professional training is in school counseling, where I obtained a Master of Science degree in Counseling and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Counseling from the State of California. My school counseling training is rooted in the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model, which focuses on utilizing data and evidence-based practices to effect change in the academic, college/career, and social/emotional development of all students.
