Who we are
GM English Hub ("we", "our") is a nonprofit English education project based in Naouane Village, Luang Prabang Province, Lao PDR. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information from volunteer applicants, donors, community partners, newsletter subscribers, website visitors, and — where we work with village schools — students and parents.
What we collect
For volunteer applications: name, contact details, nationality, date of birth, education and experience, languages, motivation letter, CV, and (where required) a passport scan and criminal background check results. For contact and chat messages: name, email, subject, message. For newsletter sign-ups: email and language preference. We do not collect card numbers or other payment credentials on this website. Volunteer contribution packages are selected on the Fee page; card payment is completed later through a secure link after a placement is confirmed.
How we use it
To process applications and donations, communicate with applicants and supporters, comply with Lao education and child protection regulations, and operate the project. Volunteer documents are accessed only by authorised GM English Hub staff and stored in a restricted, access-controlled system. We do not sell personal data to third parties.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing hello@gmenglishhub.orgs. We respond within 30 days. Volunteer application records are retained for 3 years for safeguarding reference purposes.
